About Us
Our Story
Born in a black box, LADS Theatre Company is a longtime dream of college friends Ann Ridley, Mia Terry, and Hunter Filipovitch. The trio, coming from various backgrounds—ranging from a transfer student turned philosophy major, a film-loving softball player, to a creatively inclined business major—became close friends through a production of Eurydice. It was through this experience that they discovered not only their shared passion for theater, but that creating art together was an inescapable calling.
Mission Statement
The purpose of LADS is to create intimate, impactful and inclusive theatre that celebrates diverse voices and tells sincere stories. An acronym for "laugh, act, dance, sing" LADS aims to bring quality theatre to underserved communities by providing opportunities for emerging and untapped talent. We believe that the act of engaging with art doesn’t always require understanding, but rather an openness to being affected or transformed by it. Through thought-provoking performances and community-driven projects, we want to create a space where people can engage with theater authentically, no matter their background or experience, and have a fun time doin it.
